Average Looking Female Need Not Apply

I heard somewhere that if you have a blog, you probably shouldn't wait a year to update it. Instead, I waited two.

so i was walking to Potbelly for a sandwich at lunch and I see a sizzling bright orange car parked on the sidewalk that looked sexy and familiar (similar to this car, but without the JT doppelganger.). I did a double-take thinking "that really looks like a Tesla," which you don't see on the average DC sidewalk. My suspicion was confirmed when I looked up to see a giant Tesla sign on the building. Who knew they were around the corner?!

I stopped after lunch and walked inside. The store was empty and I asked the guy (who happened to look like an Armani model but wearing a Tesla polo) a few questions about the car. I asked him if he had one. He laughed and says he walks to work and doesn't have a car, although he drives the company Tesla sometimes. I then asked what he did before selling Teslas (thinking that it was a pretty special job so he must have some decent credentials). He says "not much. I didn't graduate all that long ago, so I spent some time traveling and visiting family." I said "Oh, you must have really known a lot about electric vehicles" He says "nope, when they recruited me I didn't know anything about cars and especially not electric vehicles." I then said "Oh, then you must have had a good background in sales?" He says "nope, not only did I not have any automotive experience, I didn't have any sales experience either. They just recruited me one day." At this point I gave up and thanked him for his time, but I left thinking "where the heck did they recruit this guy from? Unemployed Actors or something?" I am definitely not prejudiced about a pretty face, but I would have thought that the guy picked to sell the "almighty Tesla" would have had some kind of qualification other than good hair and a killer smile.

Disclaimer: maybe I'm just a little bitter because I did have a few years of experience working with electric vehicles and applied for one of those jobs before I found my current gig, yet I didn't even get an interview. Hisssss.
