I decided today that I was going to start blogging. Not the back-in-the-day Myspace diary blogs, but one with a purpose. Maybe my headline is misleading, but I really am looking for an outlet...in the literal sense. This blog is to help chart my quest to find one.
The auto industry and the news tout how electric vehicles are the future. I hear the word "Volt" every day. Who wouldn't want something that promises 30% fewer carbon emissions, eases our dependence on foreign oil, protects against oil price volatility, reduces the number of times I have to go to a dirty gas station, and is a cool, new, cleantech gadget? Forget about the proposed $40k+ pricetag. I'm counting on tax credits and free flowing financing. Sign me up!
But then I realized that this beautiful, wonderful, save-our-world invention was not meant for me. I have nowhere to charge it. As one of many condo-dwellers, I have no garage. (Actually, I can't think of one friend or family member that a) has a garage AND b) has power in the garage AND c) has removed enough junk out of that garage to actually park a vehicle inside.) So, what am I to do?
